Bts' RM is a UN Advocate for Youth Education

RM from BTS Shares his Voice for Youth Education with the UN

Kim Namjoon, also known as RM, the leader of the popular South Korean boy band BTS, shared his story on the platform of the United Nations to the world. At the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly on Monday, the artist spoke of his struggles and the importance of education in the life of a person. This made him the first-ever Korean to speak at the UN General Assembly. Following his speech, RM (Real Me) was appointed as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) special envoy for youth.

RM, in his speech, highlighted the crucial role education played in his life. He explained how education helped him find his voice and identity and how education opens up a new world to the youth, enabling them to become the best version of themselves.

RM shared his own story of struggle and his journey as a young boy who loved to read and write to becoming a successful artist and a global icon.

RM's speech ended with a powerful message: "No matter who you are, where you're from, your background, your skin color, your gender identity - just speak yourself."
